In a tragic incident in Digapahandi, Odisha, our hearts go out to the victims and their families affected by the collision between two buses late last night. Twelve lives were lost, and several others have been injured and are receiving medical treatment. The collision occurred between a private bus carrying a marriage party from Behrampur and an Odisha Roadways bus traveling from Rayagada to Bhubaneswar. The collision was severe, leading to some passengers getting trapped in the wreckage. The police and service workers worked tirelessly to rescue them.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined. The incident caused chaos in the area, with a large gathering of people and disruption in traffic movement due to one of the buses overturning.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed his grief over the tragic incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives.
